Đoković spreman da se osveti Čungu: Spremite se za masters u Torontu

Teniski turnir u Torontu je pored Vimbldona jedan od tri najstarija događaja na ATP sceni, ali je shodno nedavnom razvoju stvari dodatno zanimljivi zbog mogućnosti da se nedugo posle okršaja u Londonu ponovo sastanu Novak Đoković i Rafael Nadal.

Voljom žreba ovoga puta to nije moguće pre finala, ali je iščekivanje da Masters u Kanadi počne, tim veće. U veoma jakoj postavi pored dvojice velikih rivala, nalazi se i prošlogodišnji pobednik Aleksander Zverev, ali i nekolicina onih kojim imaju potrebu da nešto dokažu. Tu pre svega mislimo na Grigora Dimitrova, Del Potra, Dominika Tima i Marina Čilića.

Vimbldon i US Open u istoj godini: Konors prvi, Đoković poslednji!

Prisutan je i finalista Vimbldona Kevin Anderson, a od mlađih Cicipas i Rublev. Nažalost, Endi Mari je otkazao učešće posle  iscrpljujućeg, ali i emotivnog nastupa u Vašingtonu. Velika šteta s obzirom da je Britancu ovo bio jedan od omiljenijih turnira  na kome je tri puta pobeđivao.

Domaća publika najveće nade polaže u Miloša Raonića i Denisa Šapovalova, sa željom da Kanada dobije svog pobednika po prvi put posle 1959. godine kada je na turniru najbolji bio Robert Bedard.

Da li da se nadamo finalu Đoković – Nadal u Torontu?

Organizatori se potajno nadaju da bi u finalu mogli da vide najveće od svih velikih teniskih rivalstava, odnosno novi duel Đokovića i Nadala. Poznato je koju podlogu Španac najviše voli, ali ako mu igde beton odgovara, to je onda u Torontu. Poslednju od tri titule Nadal je osvojio 2013. godine i zapravo je jedini Španac koji je pored Manuel Orantesa (1975) pobeđivao u na ovom turniru u novijoj eri tenisa.

Na impresivnoj listi šampiona na kojoj se nalaze Federer, Agasi, Mekinro, Lendl, Rod Lejver, Borg i mnogi drugi veliki teniseri, Novak Đoković sa četiri trofeja takođe zauzima istaknuto mesto. Kanadski Masters je i njemu posebno drag jer ga je prvi put osvojio 2007. godine kada je počeo da krči put ka sadašnjim visinama.

Kada je u pitanju aktuelni žreb, njegov put do eventualnog finala je daleko teži nego Nadalov. Razlog je naravno, činjenica da Đoković u Torontu tek deveti nosilac, dok je Bik sa Majorke označen kao broj jedan. Srpski teniser bi već u ranoj fazi mogao da naleti na Tima, Aleksandera Zvereva, a nešto kasnije na Dimitrova ili Gofana.

Priliku za revanš Čungu, Đoković ima već u prvom kolu

Međutim, Đoković već u prvom meču ima izvanrednu priliku da se revanšira Južnokorejancu Čungu za poraz u Melburnu. Pošto je uspeh u Vimbldonu ipak došao pomalo ,,pre roka”, ali i potpuno zasluženo, sada svi očekuju da vide kako će Đoković izgledati na betonu. Već je proglašen za najvećeg favorita u Njujorku, što svakako donosi pritisak, ali i nove motive.

Meč sa Čungom je jedan od interesatnijih u prvoj rundi u Torontu, a u one koje ne bi trebalo propustiti spadaju i dueli Raonić – Gofan, Kirjos – Vavrinka, Fonjini – Džonson i svakako Krajinović – Kačanov.
